Interested in Dungeons & Dragons? Want to create and run fantasy adventures for your friends? Come learn the ins and outs of what it takes to become a successful Dungeon Master. (Grades 6–12)
Becoming a skilled dungeon master can be a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun! In this four-part series, you will learn the skills necessary to become a great dungeon master, which will also aid you professionally. In addition to the game's rules, learn time management, conflict negotiation, effective communication, improvisation, leadership skills and more!
June 17: What are the rules, and when do I break them?
June 19: What is session 0, and why is it important? Setting expectations and managing calendars.
June 24: What to do about the problem player at the table. How to manage conflict.
June 26: Putting it all together. Show what you've learned by taking a turn running a real game of D&D.
Need service hours for school? Once you've completed the mentorship program, sign up for DM at the library! Check out our D&D kit located in the Vortex and run games for other teens here at Fountaindale. For every hour you DM, you will earn a service hour.
